Ningbo Investment Conference on Dec. 15 at Oakland County Executive Office

Waterford, MI - On Tuesday morning, December 15, 2015 at the Oakland County Executive Office, the Detroit Chinese Business Association co-hosted a Business Conference welcoming an investment delegation from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province to Michigan. Ningbo is a major industrial hub in east China with 1.6 million population, lies south of Shanghai. It's home to Ningbo Port, which is the busiest in the world in terms of cargo tonnage. The annual cargo volume is over 750 million. Ningbo is the economic center on the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and an important development engine of the Greater Shanghai Economic Circle in China.
Ms. Irne Spanos, the Director of Economic Development & Community Affairs, Oaklnad County welcomed all guests to attend the business conference. She gave an overview of Oakland County among automotive industry, education and mandarin promotion and investment environment. The county has ranked as the 10th richest county based on individual incomes since 2010.
Mr. Ken Chen, Project Manager of Ningbo International Investment Promotion Bureau introduced the Ningbo overview, espicially in the manufacturing and auto industries. Mr. Chen gave a bunch of numbers to demonstrate the international investment in the city of Ningbo. Ningbo has international industry zone (e.g. Northern European Industry Zone) , 154 financial institutions, a number of international schools for foreign national children, as well as international chain supermarket and five starts hotels.
Mr. Milan Stevanovich, Vice President of Detroit Chinese Business Association also gave an overview of this 20-year history's non-profit organization. DCBA has established close relationships with American and Chinese government agencies, automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and many other manufacturing and service companies and organizations. Speakers included Mr. Mark Heusel from Dickinson Wright, Mr. Justin Robinson from Detroit Regional Chamber and Ms. Julia Qi from Clayton & McKervey.
