Golf Outing's Keynote Speakers - Jason Luo & L. Brooks Patterson
DCBA is extremely honored to present Jason Luo, Chairman of our new Advisory Board & CEO of KSS, and L. Brooks Patterson, Oakland County Executive, as our Keynote Speakers for the Golf Outing Events.
Jason Luo will be speaking in the Business Conference portion on Monday, September 21, 2015. As President & CEO and board member of Key Safety Systems (KSS), Mr. Luo has extensive hands-on experience with M&A, divestitures, corporate strategy development/implementation and global operation excellence. KSS is a $1.5B+ leading global auto-safety system company with 34 global technical centers and manufacturing plants in North America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Luo has led the business transformation and global expansion of KSS since 2007. Born in China, Mr. Luo has a deep knowledge and understanding of doing business in China, and achieved 10-fold revenue growth in China since 2007.
L. Brooks Patterson will be giving his Keynote Speech on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Mr. Patterson has been serving as Oakland County Executive for over 22 years and since has launched numerous innovative programs completely transforming Oakland County and southeast Michigan. Programs he has created include the unique Three Year Budget, Medical Main Street, Automation Alley, etc. Not only has he increased the economic health of Oakland County, but he is constructing a more economically sound future through education. Acknowledging China's emergence as a world economic power, he made Oakland County the first county in the U.S. to teach Mandarin Chinese in every public school district.

June 2015 Events Summary
This June was a very busy one for us as we welcomed multiple Chinese delegations and took a quick break from all the work at the NASCAR event.
Chongqing Signing Ceremony on June 25 at Oakland County Executive Office
On Thursday, June 25th at the Oakland County executive offices The DCBA co-hosted an event welcoming a delegation of distinguished guests from Chongqing to Oakland County. The event was held in order to establish a working and friendly relationship between the two areas and sign an agreement establishing a branch of the "International Academy" in Chongqing. The event brought together esteemed government officials and professionals from Chongqing and Oakland County. Special guests included Mr. Weng Jieming the executive deputy mayor of Chongqing and Mr. Matt Gibb the deputy executive for Oakland County.
The president of the DCBA, Jerry Xu welcomed the Chongqing Delegation came to Michigan.
The signing ceremony for the new International Academy in Chongqing was held after speeches.
Before the event ended, 13 year old Chanel Stevanovich (daughter of DCBA Business and Community development officer Milan Stevanovich) gave a short speech in mandarin in which she expressed her desire to attend the new International Academy in Chongqing.

Taizhou Medicine Delegation Dinner with Oakland County Deputy Executive on June 18 at Sakura Restaurant
On June 18, DCBA hosted a dinner to welcome the Taizhou medicine delegation with Matt Gibb, Oakland County Deputy Executive. The delegation participated an essential meeting with DCBA sponsor, David Farman before the dinner.
"Medical Main Street" is an essential project, which cooperate among many significant cities worldwide and Oakland County. DCBA is looking to take Medical Delegation to China in November.
NASCAR Visiting on June 13 at Michigan International Speedway (Invited by DCBA Strategic partner, INCODEL)
The DCBA partner, INCODEL invited us to view the NASCAR race from their hospitality suite at Michigan International Speedway on June 13. We spent a great time with all guests, including DCBA sponsors and friends. We also saw the INCODEL branding on the start/finish line. Thank INCODEL for such a wonderful opportunity!

Chicago Hong Kong & Dinner with Executive Governor of Hong Kong and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel
Detroit Chinese Business Association along with events with Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Chicago, over 100 Chinese companies were in town for conference with 1000 persons attending from all parts of the Globe, DCBA Sponsor participation included, Baker Tilley, Miller Canfield, Kerr Russell, EY, and dozens of DCBA members participated in Hong Kong Conference and Special Dinner with Executive Governor of Hong Kong and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

[Volunteers/College Interns Wanted]
To keep up with the recent influx of work we've received here at DCBA, we're looking for college interns and new volunteers to work with us at our new 1700 sq-ft Troy Office at 2100 W. Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI.
The DCBA is a high-level business association with a focus on creating new business relationships and opportunities between the State of Michigan and China. We host many conferences and events to foster this relationship and it is our mission to make doing business enjoyable and beneficial to both parties.
Six of our interns, recent college graduates, have all successfully found full-time sponsored employment through the DCBA Network this year. Experience in Graphic Design, Business Development, Engineering, or International Relations, is preferred but communication, commitment & consistency is essential.
