Andrew H. Thorson is a partner and the Chair of the International Business Practice Group at the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP. He represents U.S., Asian and E.U. companies in joint ventures, acquisitions of U.S. and Asia-based companies, venture capital, and cross-border licensing, distribution and supply agreements. His experience and expertise includes assisting U.S. companies in structuring and setting up their operations in China and Japan. He has lived and practiced law in Asia for many years and continues to travel to China and Japan on a regular basis. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law and a Master of Laws degree from Kyoto University Graduate School of Law.

Albert Vincent Y. Yu Chang is an attorney with the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP. With his background as an Overseas Chinese, Mr. Yu Chang devotes part of his business law practice to representing Asian and Chinese business enterprises with respect to business ventures and operations in the U.S. as well U.S. companies in setting up business operations in Asia. He holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Laws degree from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the board of directors of the Chinese Association of West Michigan.

Richard “Rick” Winfree is President of SMS Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in manufacturing optimization, lean implementation, and Chinese supplier development.
Rick’s career spans 28 years in manufacturing operations, engineering, and executive positions, primarily with tier 1 and tier 2 automotive suppliers. His company experience ranges from well known multi-billion dollar corporations to a niche start-up company specializing in electrical switch and sensor components. His international experiences in manufacturing and supplier development include China, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Poland, and the US.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan with a specialization in manufacturing and materials. He has particular expertise in plastic injection molding, stamping, and electromechanical assembly. He can be reached at rwinfree@strat-solutions.com.
