In cooperation with Butzel Long Law Firm, Detroit Chinese Business Association will host the second business seminar in the evening of March 15, 2007 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Hyatt Regency (600 Town Center Drive, Dearborn, Michigan 48126). The speakers will address the regulation and compliance issues for many American and Chinese companies doing business in Michigan.

In the past five years, many Chinese companies have established their presences in Michigan. With their growing business, Chinese companies in Michigan represent an emerging economic force for the US-China business exchange. At the seminar on March 15, DCBA will continue to introduce the Chinese companies who have established their strong foothold in Michigan. SG Automotive Group is a great example of Chinese auto company in Michigan.

  1. Protecting your Intellectual Property in the US
    Thomas Moga, registered US patent attorney, will discuss the types of intellectual property protection available in the US and the steps needed to obtain patents as well as trademark and copyright registrations.

  2. Compliance with the U.S. Government Regulations
    Shusheng Wang, formerly a GM legal counsel and now Co-Director of the Butzel Long China Business Consultancy, will discuss compliance with the U.S. government regulations by Chinese companies including the rules of taxation, employment, reporting, business record, environment, anti-corruption, anti-money laundry, as well as import and export.

  3. Case Study: Chinese Auto Company in Michigan
    Diana Mao, director of SG Automotive Inc., US office of Liaoning SG Automotive Group, will share with the audience her perspectives of business growth in US automotive industry. SG established its presence in Michigan since August 2002 and gained the significant growth in the past four and a half years.
